A recurring survey is the same survey, posted on a schedule. Each run is its own result set, and the dashboard groups them under one parent so you can compare week to week or month to month.
You set the schedule on the Share Survey modal, the second screen of the create flow. Open the Surveys App Home, click Create a survey, fill in the title and questions as normal, then click Next: Share Survey.
Pick the cadence
The Repeat select at the top of the Share Survey modal controls recurrence:
- Weekdays (Mon to Fri): every weekday at the time you pick.
- Specific days of the week: pick any combination of weekdays or weekend days.
- Monthly: pick a day of the month. Months with fewer days post on the last day.
- Quarterly: every three months on an anchor date that you pick.
Pick the slowest cadence the team will tolerate. See Recurring pulses that actually stick for why monthly tends to beat weekly for most teams.
Pick the day and time
The Time of day select offers 15-minute slots. The time you pick uses your local Slack timezone automatically; there is nothing to configure.
For specific-days cadences, pick one or more days of the week. For monthly, pick a day of the month. For quarterly, pick a calendar date that anchors the cycle (every three months on that month and day).
First send and end date
First send is optional for the weekday-based and monthly cadences (leave it empty to start at the next slot) and required for quarterly (it defines the anchor month and day).
End date is always optional. Leave it empty to repeat indefinitely. You can also pause or end a recurring survey at any time from the App Home, so committing to a specific end date upfront is rare.
Click Schedule
The submit button reads Schedule Survey once a repeat cadence is picked. The next run is posted automatically at the time you chose. Each run sends a fresh invite to the channels and DMs you selected.
Pause, resume, edit, end
Recurring surveys are managed from the App Home tab. Each active recurring survey has buttons for:
- Pause: stops future runs without ending the series. Resume later.
- Resume: re-enables a paused series.
- Edit: re-opens the Create Survey + Share Survey flow for the template. You can change the title, description, audience, schedule, and reminders.
- End: closes the series. Past runs and their results stay on the dashboard.
Editing the question list of an active series creates a new template; past runs keep the questions they were published with. The intent is that historical data stays comparable to the run it came from.
Where results show up
Each run lives on the dashboard as its own result set, grouped under the recurring series. Click the series to see a timeline of past runs with their response counts. Click a single run to open its detail view.
