Comparison

Surveys vs Polly

Polly bills per sender, across four platforms. Surveys bills per workspace, Slack only. Pricing is where teams feel it.

Per workspace, not per sender

One price for the whole workspace, no matter who sends. Polly bills by active sender, so costs scale linearly with each team lead. The math tips fast for teams with multiple senders.

Slack-only, by choice

We do one platform deeply: the create flow, the modal, the App Home tab, the dashboard. All shaped for how Slack teams actually work. No compromises for Teams or Zoom parity.

Honest about what we ship

No templates library yet. No webhooks API. We list what is in the box and what is not. The features that are there are the ones we use ourselves.

Pricing

One workspace price vs per-sender billing.

Polly

Per active sender

Polly's base plan is $19 per active sender per month, $29 on the higher tier. Three senders means three subscriptions; five means five. The total grows with your team.

Surveys

$29 / month, flat

One subscription, any number of senders. $29 for up to 24 respondents, $59 once you cross 25. The number does not change as senders grow.

The math

What it costs as your team grows.

Senders running surveys Polly Surveys
1 sender $19 $29
3 senders $57 $29
5 senders $95 $29
10 senders $190 $29

At Polly's base rate of $19 per sender. Higher tier costs more per sender. Past two senders, Surveys is always cheaper.

Why teams pick Surveys over Polly

Polly is a broader tool than Surveys. It runs on four platforms and ships more features. We are smaller, focused on Slack, and built around a different pricing model.

The teams that switch usually do so for the price math. With Polly’s per-sender plan, every team lead who runs surveys is a separate seat. A workspace with three senders pays for three. Surveys is one price for the whole workspace, no matter who sends, and the number stays the same as your team grows new senders.

The other reason is depth on Slack. We do not split design effort across Teams and Zoom; the create flow, the modal, the App Home tab, and the dashboard are all shaped for how Slack teams actually work.

When Polly might still fit you better

There are cases where Polly is genuinely the right tool, and we will not pretend otherwise.

If your company runs on Microsoft Teams, or you need polls live inside a Zoom call, Polly covers those and Surveys does not. We are Slack-only and that is not changing soon.

If you need a templates library, webhooks, or a public API for piping responses elsewhere, Polly has them and we do not yet. These are on our list, but not today.

If your workspace has exactly one person sending surveys, Polly’s per-sender pricing may work out fine for you. The math tips in our favor when the number of senders grows.

The pricing math

At Polly’s base rate of $19 per active sender, a team with three senders pays $57 a month. With five senders, $95. With ten, $190. The total climbs in lock-step with sender count.

Surveys is $29 for the whole workspace, no matter who sends. Past two senders, Surveys is always cheaper than Polly. Past five, the gap widens fast. The bigger your team grows, the more the math tips toward a flat-priced workspace plan.
