Installing Surveys takes under a minute. Four short steps, no setup beyond what Slack itself asks for.
1. Click Add to Slack
Open the install link or click the Add to Slack button on any page of this site. You land on the Slack OAuth screen.
2. Pick the workspace
If you belong to more than one workspace, pick the one you want Surveys in. You can install it on more than one. Each workspace is billed and managed separately.
3. Approve the permissions
Slack lists what Surveys can do: post messages, open modals, read who is in the channels you target, and store its own data. Click Allow.
Surveys asks only for what it needs to deliver surveys and collect responses. No calendar access, no file scopes, no reading any channel’s message history. Private channels are off-limits until you explicitly invite Surveys to one.
4. Open the App Home tab
You land on the App Home tab inside Slack with a Create a survey button. That’s your starting point. Surveys also sends a one-time welcome DM with the same button.
What if my workspace requires admin approval?
Some workspaces restrict app installs to admins. If yours does, the Add to Slack flow shows a Submit a request screen instead of the Allow button. Add a short note about why you want Surveys and submit it.
Slack DMs your Workspace Owner with the request. Once they approve it, you finish the install yourself. After that, anyone on the workspace can install or use Surveys without going through the request flow again.
How long it takes is up to your admin. There is no Slack-side queue or SLA.
What gets installed
Surveys is one Slack app. It does not change any existing channel, post anywhere on its own, or add anyone to anything. The first message it sends is the welcome DM to whoever installed it.
